Every April 27, the country recognizes the work of thousands of officers stationed throughout the nation, who perform essential duties in maintaining public order. The institution, founded in 1927 by Carlo Ibáñez del Campo, marks its 99th anniversary this Monday amid a context in which its work is increasingly crucial for the country.
The presence of the Carabineros is also crucial at SeguridadExpo. The trade show has established itself as one of the main gathering points for Chile’s security ecosystem, bringing together authorities, companies, specialists, and representatives of law enforcement to address the sector’s key challenges.
Rodrigo Lobo, new business development manager at GL events Chile, was invited to attend the activities held during the anniversary, thereby reaffirming the close relationship between the two parties as strategic partners.
In this role, the Carabineros provide crucial insight into the country’s actual needs in the area of prevention, thereby strengthening the event’s technical and proactive nature.
“Security cannot be built in isolation. It requires ongoing coordination between public and private institutions. The Carabineros’ active participation in SeguridadExpo reflects precisely that need to advance joint solutions to address current challenges,” notes Rodrigo Bastidas, the fair’s manager.
Throughout its various editions, SeguridadExpo has fostered discussions on intelligent video surveillance, data analytics, access control, cybersecurity, and new technological tools that today serve as key support for the preventive and operational work of law enforcement agencies.
Against a backdrop marked by the rise of organized crime, new threats, and growing public demands, institutional strengthening and the incorporation of innovation are becoming essential to improving the response of the security system as a whole.
With just months to go before celebrating its 100th anniversary, the Carabineros de Chile is facing a decisive phase, in which experience, modernization, and collaborative efforts will be key to continuing to build safer environments for the country.
