With representatives from various sectors of the industry in attendance, the first meeting of the newly created National Chamber of Private Security was held, marking a milestone in the process of organizing and strengthening the sector’s professional association in Chile.
The event was attended by various stakeholders involved in the industry’s development, including Rodrigo Bastidas, manager of SeguridadExpo, to strengthen the ties between the two organizations.
“At SeguridadExpo, we deeply value the formation of this chamber, as it helps strengthen industry coordination and create a more unified voice. These types of initiatives are essential for addressing the challenges currently facing the security sector in Chile,” said Bastidas.
The event focused on formally introducing the new entity and validating its role as a coordinator for the industry, at a time when private security is playing an increasingly prominent role in prevention and protection strategies at the national level.
During the meeting, progress was made in establishing its initial structure, including the confirmation of an interim board of directors tasked with leading this first phase. Hugo Ibaceta was appointed as president. The board also includes Christian Villablanca, Jorge Gatica, Favel Álvarez, and Tulio Benavides as directors.
Likewise, the first strategic guidelines were defined, aimed at consolidating the institutional identity, strengthening the association’s communication, and establishing ties with authorities and relevant actors in the security ecosystem, including SeguridadExpo.
Another significant agreement was the establishment of a work schedule, which includes the implementation of spokespersons and the creation of thematic working groups to address priority challenges in the sector, both in the regulatory and operational spheres.
The formation of this chamber responds to the need for unified representation that channels the sector’s main concerns, bringing them into public-private dialogue forums and contributing to the sector’s development.
SeguridadExpo will take place from June 18 to 20 at Espacio Riesco, with the aim of reaffirming its position as the leading event in the security sector in our country. It is organized by FISA, part of the GL events Chile group, and brings together companies, experts, government officials, and industry professionals to discuss the sector’s key trends, technologies, and challenges.
