The increase in demand for protection solutions, driven by new security challenges, has transformed armor into a segment of growing importance. This trend will be one of the focal points of the trade show, which will bring together companies and specialists in the field.

The armoring industry has undergone a true revolution in Chile in recent years. This sector has grown exponentially, evolving from a niche service for vehicles to an increasingly common solution for protecting homes, offices, and even institutions such as hospitals and schools.

The figures reflect this phenomenon. In the automotive sector, according to data from El Mercurio, there was a sharp increase in the number of people who have decided to have their vehicles armored. The number of vehicles armored rose from 20 in 2019 to more than 600 in 2025. This increase, incidentally, is also driven by the growing perception of insecurity in the country.

When it comes to the armoring of buildings and facilities, the trend is also on the rise. According to the organization Fiscalía Privada, which is dedicated to providing companies with tools to prevent crime, demand increased by 225% from 2024 to 2025.

Technological Advancements: Key to the Growth of Armoring

The positive results seen in this industry have gone hand in hand with technological innovation. Today, there are lighter and more resistant materials that allow for the development of solutions tailored to different risk levels—from ballistic glass and panels to protection systems for vehicles and facilities—expanding the possibilities for applying armoring in various environments.

With all this in mind, SeguridadExpo, Chile’s largest comprehensive security exhibition,will feature a dedicated space for this industry during its 2026 edition, which will take place September 8–10 at Metropolitan Santiago. The trade show will bring together companies from various security sectors, including firms specializing in vehicle and architectural armor, as well as suppliers of materials and solutions designed to protect critical infrastructure, corporate buildings, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and other strategic sites.

“Armoring is no longer a solution reserved for specific cases; today, it is part of a comprehensive security strategy for companies and institutions. At SeguridadExpo, we want to bring together the key players in this industry, introducing visitors to the technologies and solutions that are currently shaping its development,” says Rodrigo Bastidas, manager of FISA’s Logistics and Defense Unit.

With this initiative, the exhibition organized by FISA, part of the GL events Chile Group, aims to create a meeting place for manufacturers, integrators, specialists, and end users, promoting the exchange of knowledge and the creation of new business opportunities in a sector that continues to expand its presence in various areas of security.

In addition, there will be the International Congress, which will take place as part of the exhibition and bring together national and international experts to address the main challenges facing the sector. The agenda will include topics such as organized crime, border security, the correctional system, data protection, and artificial intelligence—key areas that are currently redefining security strategies in the country and driving increased demand for protection and armor solutions.
